Naragsak Kannawidan

Ilocos Sur has a rich heritage and unique culture that are to be preserved for the next generations because it is observed that many of these traditions, song, dances and other Ilocano culture are not familiar to the younger generations already.Because of this, the provincial government of Ilocos Sur concerned a festival that will highlight these culture and traditions and attract local and foreign tourists as well. They call it the KANNAWIDAN YLOCOS FESTIVAL,it is also a time to commemorate the anniversary of Ilocos Sur as a province since it was seperated on February 3, 1818.

Kannawidan is a variant of Ilocano word “tawid” meaning heritage or inheritance .Kannawidan also conducts major activities and events for community participation. Became one of the most awaited annual celebrations in the province of Ilocos Sur is doing its ultimate capabilities to give the best, most  especially to the visitors and exhibitors.

Last year,Kannawidan Festival was very fun.Me and My family went there and spend our time enjoying how beautiful Kannawidan is. We played and eat together .But this year,Kannawidan Festival is not the same as last year because of this pandemic that we are facing. Many fun activities, events and more that we’ve missed because of the pandemic. This year, I didn’t go to Kannawidan with my family. I’m still happy because they post a live video about the  Saniata ti Ylocos  .Saniata ti Ylocos Is one of the favourite event of my mother, she do really love watching pageants, thanks to the people that post them social media because we have chance to watched the  Saniata ti Ylocos even though we are experiencing this covid pandemic. Me and my siblings  miss going to the circus, playing and riding fun activities.we do really love playing fun games, even though we lost ever y time but we enjoyed playing.  This year, Kannawidan was open  but  they trully follow about the protocols and everything that needs to follow. Facemask, face shield ans social distancing.Hoping that this pandemic will end soon. STAY SAFE  everyone!!!

  4. Hi Shainaly! A lot has changed since the pandemic came. Mass gatherings were prohibited, so festivals were not able to celebrate the way we celebrated it in the past years. By the way, I enjoyed reading your blog. Hope you're doing fine. God bless!

The Lenten Season

For Christians, Lent is the season of reflection, fasting and aimsgiving. This season commemorates not only the passion of Jesus Christ but also the time he went to the desert to reflect and meditate for 40 days. This season exhorts Christians to follow in the footstep of Christ by helping those who are in need while resisting the temptation of the material world. One of the most  important aspect of Lenten season is the spirit of Reflection. It offers us a time to reflect on our actions if our actions were in Line with Christ. This kind of reflection allows us to gain insight on what we need to do to help us follow Christ. It opens us a chance to change ourselves for the better. Another aspect of Lent is the spirit of sacrifice. God sacrifice his own son for us. Christian believe that by  sacrificing a little aspect of our lives they can repay and share the sacrifice done by Jesus during his passion that’s why Christian do fasting. Even though Lent is a season of Refle...

My Hat Tip

Dear Mr, President              I don’t have much idea on who you are but as I watched you speak on television I've come to realized you eagerness, your passion and your love to the people and to our country. I can see in your eyes that you're tired of all the chaos we are going through right now for we are divided, those who love you so much and those who hate you so much but Mr. President please continue the good things you are doing for the sake of the Filipino people. Do the things you know it can ruin us, just to protect your people. I know that a lot of my Co-Filipino hate you so much and I can’t persuade them to look for the greater things you have done to this country but I am one of the few people who believes in you and I hope that this will be enough reason for you to keep going. We support you and we always have your back.                                  ...

A Mother's Love

Mother's Day is a celebration honoring the mother of the family or individual, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. It is celebrated on different days in many parts of the world, most commonly in the months of March or May. It complements similar celebrations, largely pushed by commercial interests, honoring family members, such as Father's Day, Siblings Day, and Grandparents Day. Mothers have taught us a lot, they have sacrificed for us, and they love us unconditionally. There is nothing that can compare to a mother's love. The love of a mother provides strength, comfort, healing, and warmth. They do everything they can to guide and provide a better life for their children. They say that Mother knows best; they may reprimand us, and there may be something we don't understand, but they know better, and all they do is for us. A mother's love is unlike any other. They keep us safe from injury and danger. Every year, we recog...
